Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 2nd International Conference on Nail Disorders in Israel. The conference aims are many and varied, with the main goal focused on opening a window into the fascinating and challenging field of dermatology while concentrating on various nail diseases. Different skin disorders, such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, lichen planus, etc., often affect the nails with or without the appearance of fungal infection.

The conference will discuss common nail disorders such as onychomycosis in its various forms, nail psoriasis, paronychia, different nail pigmentations, ingrown nails s, etc., and the treatment of varying nail diseases related to the nail unit. In addition, there will be presentations related to surgical procedures intended for the diagnosis and/or treatment of various nail disorders, with an emphasis on planning nail bed and matrix biopsies and the character of the diagnostic biopsy - mainly from various melanocytic lesions of the nails.

Additionally, the conference will cover various updates related to advanced research and diagnostic methods on different biological treatments for nail psoriasis/lichen planus, etc., what's new in systemic/topical antifungal treatments; an update on the genetic basis of inherited nail disorders, various therapies for unique nail diseases combined with other conditions such as nail psoriasis, both as pure psoriasis and in combination with the accompanying fungal infection, as well as the treatment approach to nail fungus, with the usual treatments including terbinafine, itraconazole, and fluconazole - which have failed - and we will discuss the therapeutic process in these challenging cases.

Updates will be presented regarding treatments using a range of nail lasers – and their advantages and disadvantages. We will show the effectiveness of different biological treatments for various nail diseases, primarily psoriasis. We will also deal with using advanced molecular biology techniques in various fungal disorders compared to the standard methods used today. Finally, we will discuss new antifungal and antideformity treatments for nails and innovative techniques that increase the absorption of antifungal preparations into the nail bed.
